HAPPY NEW YEAR! What I Learned in 2017 + My 2018 Goals

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope everyone had a fun--but most importantly safe--time ringing in the new year! 2017 was so good to me and I cannot wait for what 2018 has in store! Today, I am going to share what I learned in 2017 + my personal goals for myself in 2018. I hope this inspires someone to take on a new goal (or two) for the new year!

I truly believe in the "new year, new me" mindset, even though most people think it's a little cliché. I just think it is easier (mentally) to set personal goals when you have an entire year to make them happen! The beginning of a new year allows time for you to collect your thoughts, values, and set goals for things that are truly important to you, your happiness, and health. It is a clean slate for you to become the best version of you yet!

What I Learned in 2017

  • Time management is the key to everything.
  • Good friendships and seeing friends more often are good for your health.
  • You can't focus on someone else until you are okay and well.
  • The only person standing in the way of your goals is, you.
  • Practice really does make perfect.
  • Simplicity is key.
  • You can't make everyone happy. You can, however, make YOU happy.
  • Know your boundaries and your limits; don't pile too much on your plate. You'll just crash and burn.
  • True love is becoming more and more rare these days. If you find it, hold on to it.
  • Never make a promise you can't keep.
  • Family time eases the mind.
  • You need a full 8+ hours of sleep a night.
  • There is no such thing as starting too early for anti-aging products, only too late.
  • Don't ever let someone tell you that you shouldn't do something you want to do.

My Goals for 2018

  • Start going to bed earlier. Like, before 10:00 PM earlier.
  • Use my new Day Designer planner everyday.
  • Plan a trip somewhere with my mom. We have always wanted to do this but never do!
  • Make more time for my life outside of work.
  • Deep clean my room one good time, then maintain it by cleaning for 15 minutes before bed every night so that my room remains clean.
  • Workout consistently! [Even if this means squeezing in an at-home workout on busier days. My gym is open 24/7 so there's NO excuses]
  • Listen to Head Space before going to bed at night.
  • Attend church more often.
  • Be a morning person. (It would be the DREAM if I could wake up, eat breakfast, workout, come home, shower, then have the whole day to do whatever I need).
  • Travel more with my boyfriend.
  • Eat healthier and actually stick to a balanced diet.
  • Drink 8 glasses of water a day, everyday, like you're supposed to!
  • Start a YouTube channel, maybe.
  • Take precautions in order to stress-less. [Clean my room, keep my bathroom clean, drink tea at night, use my essential oil diffuser, meditate]
  • Actually take the time to set up my Style Book app! (I bought it MONTHS ago. The app is such a cool concept and would be life changing but I have so many clothes it will literally take forever to take pictures of everything I own.)
  • Have more planned-out healthy options in my fridge. (Not necessarily meal prep, but have fruits and veggies pre-cut, servings of health snacks measured out into baggies, etc.)
  • Take my blog posts to the next level.
  • Follow my skincare routine EVERY night; no skips! This means putting body lotion on, too.
